2011 In Review (Part 4)

This is the final chapter of our Year in Review. I’ve had a great time looking back and thinking about all the things we’ve done this year and hope everyone takes a moment to reflect on all the memories they’ve made this year.

In the third quarter of the year, we really settled into a groove with our new baby which is good because the last quarter of the year promised to be very busy. This was the time of year we were most looking forward to last year when I was still pregnant. All of our favorite activities happen during this time of year and we could not wait to have our baby with us to participate in the fun!

October
We took our annual trip to the Pumpkin Patch (or farm as they call it). The weather was really nice and we had a wonderful time. We picnicked with our family and then took a hay ride out to the patch where we picked out our pumpkins. We also watched the pig races and shopped at the craft and food stands. It was a really fun day.

Of course we also celebrated Halloween! Macario had 3 costumes!!! He was a skeleton on the day of our pumpkin patch trip, and he wore a monkey costume from my brother for our Halloween card and then a different monkey costume on Halloween.

He loved trick or treating! The night met our expectations and more. Our little boy was so precious and had a great time.

November
Of course the highlight of everyone’s life in November was probably Thanksgiving and all the yummy food that comes along with it.

Macario got to try some new foods, including pumpkin pie! He loved it and loved being with family.

We also started a new tradition of chopping down a tree the day after Thanksgiving. Though it’s nice to do things with our families, it was special that the three of us got to spend that day taking a little road trip together and cutting down Macario’s first tree!

December
No doubt Christmas (Macario's First!) has been the biggest event in December, but also getting to do all those little holiday things in the weeks leading up to Christmas was fun too. We took Macario to visit Santa twice!

Though we appreciate every gift we were given, the greatest gift we received this year was our son. Aaron and I have always loved doing things together and having Macario here to share all those experiences with for the first time has only enriched our lives.

I hope you enjoyed reading about our highlights from 2011. May you all enjoy beautiful times in 2012!
